Let’s fight food waste

Nearly one-third
of all edible food in the world ends up wasted. That’s some US$1 trillion in the trash every year! But it’s also the unnecessary source of greenhouse gases.

In fact, if food waste were a country, it would be the third largest emitter of GHG. Accounting for 8-10% of all the climate-disrupting gases produced worldwide.

We are commited to providing reliable and durable vacuum sealers so you can save food and help protect the environment.

Take action

Reducing food waste is one of the most important things we can do to protect our planet. It’s even one of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals.

There are many ways you can reduce food waste and your carbon footprint. Here are few.

Reduce

It may sound overly simple, but it’s true: buy less food and you’ll waste less food.

When buying in large quantities, be sure to vacuum seal the extra amounts.

take-action-freeze

Freeze

Freezing extends shelf life by several months, but be sure to vacuum seal your freezables first.

Vacuum packaging will prevent freezer burn, and so keep your bulk buy better for longer!

take-action-give

Donate

Instead of letting your extras go bad, why not donate them to your local food bank? Sharing reduces food waste and helps people in need. Since the start of the pandemic, one in five working families in Canada has reported going hungry. Sharing not only reduces food waste, it helps others who need it most.

Compost

As your very last resort, extra food should be returned to the soil, through compost.

Almost all your food waste can be put in the brown bin.

Not sure what should go in the compost?
